West Middlesex Diner
I find myself North of the city a few times a year. This summer, a college friend got married thus requiring me to joyride along route 60. (It will always be route 60 to me.) After a lovely ceremony, reception and overnight stay in West Middlesex… I was ready to pack up and head home. After a stop at the West Middlesex Diner of course. A favorite dining spot for my friends and I during our time at Westminster. It had everything we looked for in a restaurant. It was open all hours of the night. It was dirt cheap. And the portions were large enough to satisfy the munchies. I can honestly say I’ve never once had a meal there other than breakfast. But I’ve had more than my fair share of eggs, bacon, toast and pancakes there. Oh the pancakes!
One of my favorite things about ordering breakfast is the fact that my meal ALWAYS comes out on multiple plates. I like to have a bit of everything, so often there is a side order. The waitress was a good sport about making room for breakfast on the table. That’s the other thing I love about the diner, the services is top notch. Friendly people who are in a hurry to get you your food, but not in a hurry to push you out the door.
After a night of celebrating with old friends and spending some quiet time at our favorite cozy diner I
was nostalgic. Does anyone have a place like that? Somewhere you’d like to just step into a time freeze and spend a while?
