I missed two months. Sue me. Actually I didn’t, I just took my days off in April and May to celebrate birthdays so we can’t really count those. For June’s day off, I explored the city by bike which, if you ask me, is the best way to explore the city. Heading over to the International? If so, be sure to swing by the Carnegie Cafe, a bit of a hidden gem in Oakland for fresh salads and sandwiches. I stopped by last week for a business meeting and was surprised by how delicious it was! The menu is filled with light and fresh fare, including a handful of salads. My choice was the roasted root vegetable salad (beets, brussels, carrots, parsnips) on a bed of spinach with candied pecans. Beets.are.my.favorite. All beet everything.
