I’ve been on a weird meatball kick lately. It’s like I’m pregnant and I can’t get enough of them. Don’t judge.
One hot afternoon I moseyed on out to the Steel Tower plaza to Craftwork Kitchen. I was seconds away from ordering a chicken sandwich when I spotted the Chorizo Meatball Hoagie. Last minute decisions usually pay off and this one delivered.
The chipotle marinara sauce and meatballs had a great spicy kick to them and the Queso Fresco, crema, and cilantro cooled it all down with each bite. Also that bun was pretty killer.
One of my favorite meatballs in the city is at Osteria 100 (or Osteria 2350). Either on a bun or by itself, this meatball is a delight.
It’s also quite big if you can’t tell from the picture. One of those is more than enough to accompany any dish you choose.
After poor lunchtime planning, I ended up at Sienna Sulla Piazza in Market Square last week.
It was like I locked eyes with my soulmate when I saw the meatball hoagie on the menu. So moist and delightful. Two veal meatballs stuffed with mozzarella on a super soft hoagie roll. It also came with pasta salad (or homemade potato chips) which had just the right amount of creaminess and flavor.
Where are your favorite meatballs in the city?
