Five Breweries to Know
Beers of the Burgh Winter Warmer kicks off in Lawrenceville on November 8th to showcase the best local beer from over 30 breweries in Western Pennsylvania. In addition to the beer tastings, the Beers of the Burgh Festival will include food provided by PGH Pierogi Truck, Mac & Gold Truck, Pittsburgh Smokehouse, The Steer and Wheel and Eliza’s Oven, along with a VIP tent catered by Bar Marco.

Reclamation Brewing Co. (Butler) – What do you get when a Baptist pastor, an entrepreneur, and a cost analyst decide to start a brewery? Quality beer from a friendly brewery with a good cause. In greater efforts to support the local community, at least 10% of all profits generated by Reclamation Brewing Co. is donated to a local charity. With monthly, seasonal and small-batch rotations on tap, Reclamation Brewing Co.’s tap room and brew pub is a place where you can discuss life and all things beer while giving back to the community.

Apis Mead (Carnegie)- Former brewer turned mead maker, Dave Cerminara recently opened the doors of a fantastic winery and tasting room in Carnegie. Apis Mead & Winery is one of the only places you can find mead- an alcoholic beverage made from honey, in Western Pennsylvania!

Rebellion Ciderworks (Slippery Rock) – A new cider house with a strong passion for maintaining the traditions of cider making. Located in a renovated barn in Slippery Rock, Rebellion Ciderworks see the apples from start to finish and make artisanal hard cider with a rack and cloth method in their 1921 cider press.
