Brunch at Stagioni
Thinking about Sunday Brunch? I’m always thinking about Sunday Brunch as well as Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Brunch. It’s really my favorite meal; a meal where you can have breakfast and lunch at the same damn time. Amazing.
Well if you are specifically thinking about Sunday Brunch, think about Stagioni (Stagioni only serves up brunch on Sundays). I paid a visit this past weekend with some of my gal pals and here is a sampling of what we ordered:
Café au lait
When I go to brunch with some of my fancy ladyfriends, I always order a fancy coffee drink. So chichi.
Complimentary breadbasket: Mini biscuits and coffee cake served with whipped butter, kumquat marmalade, and apple butter.
This breadbasket receives high marks for mixing a sweet and savory bread into the basket as well as offering a variety of toppings.
Eggs in Purgatory: Two over easy eggs served with a spicy marinara sauce over polenta.
Eggs in a Basket: Eggs cooked in a hollowed out piece of toast topped with prosciutto, frisee, lemon, olive oil and parmesan.
Side of Ricotta Pancakes served with mascarpone and maple syrup.
And by side of pancakes, it was just one.
Brunch was a solid time. The service was a little off, but I really do enjoy this place so I wouldn’t count that against them. I must pay a visit back soon, as the Brioche French Toast and Shrimp and Grits are still calling my name. The only thing missing off the brunch menu is the absolutely to-die-for made-to-order mozzarella that is served during dinner service. And if you haven’t been here for dinner, then you need to put it on your must-eat list immediately.
