Brgr Bar debuts the “That’s Amore”
I happened in to Brgr Bar last Thursday on the first day of a new burger: “That’s Amore.” The burger is more of a meatball – a combo of pork and ground beef. It is smothered in cheese, tomato sauce, and, MOZZARELLA STICKS. If you aren’t already in your car, or walking towards the place, right now, you better start.
Mozzarella sticks. DELIGHT. I had to eat it with a fork. Forkfuls of goodness.
If you haven’t been to Brgr Bar, it is an interesting joint. There are some bad reviews about service and wait time floating out in the interwebs, but I have not shared in that experience. My party was immediately seated on lounge-y couches when we walked in (granted, it was a Thursday at 8:30). Our server was pleasant. The service was at a leisurely pace, but it was nice not to feel rushed and to just enjoy the company of friends. The atmosphere lends itself to an evening spent chatting – couches and high tables, low lighting, and an odd projection of meat products on the wall. (suggestion to Brgr Bar: get some local artists to design some cool projections for you. Projections are a good idea if properly executed!!)
It is by no means a cheap burger place – it will cost you about $20 per person. I didn’t mind paying $9 for the “That’s Amore,” but I did mind paying $5 for a milkshake that was not very good or big. The shake looked so promising! A wide straw was in the shake, but it wasn’t needed. Boo sad shake consistency! Money better spent on beer.
Deceptively attractive milkshake.
Despite the seriously disappointing milkshake and the dent in my wallet, I am already planning out the next visit. I really need more cheese sticks on burgers in my life.
Dear 3000 calories: I love you.
