More than bacon at Carnegie’s Bakn
It’s taken me quite some time to make it to Bakn. I’m so ashamed because Carnegie is my jam and I’ve been finding myself there A LOT recently.
I finally paid a visit to this lovely spot and I was quite impressed. Bacon and meat are heavy on the menu, but there are plenty of options for non-meat eaters including pancakes and omelets. And let’s talk about their Lenten fish sandwich special:
Panko crusted. Toasted roll. Cole Slaw. Like #2legit2quit.
The best thing I ate was the mac and cheese (side) as it comes in a larger entree portion as well. This was hands down some of the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had. For serious. The cheesy sauce had a beer cheese taste and consistency to me and I devoured the bowl in seconds. Lesson learned: get the entree portion next time. This is also good news cause variations of the same mac will be at the sister location, Mac & Toz in Bridgeville soon.
For dessert, these three warm and gooey chocolate chip cookies come with a side of chocolate dipping sauce. I mean, c’mon. The best.
Carnegie has so many wonderful little spots to dine and get coffee, be sure to check out Bakn the next time you can’t figure out where to go for dinner. And if you live in the North, there’s a second location coming up there soon as well.
