M
Our four-day culinary adventure in Columbus started at M Restaurant, downtown at Miranova. Prior to walking into the restaurant, our tour leader and the public relations specialist working with Experience Columbus, Amy Weirick, said we were about to experience one of the best appetizers in the city – King Crab poached in butter and served in a jar of butter. (Paula Deen would probably be proud).
Delicate chunks of buttery crab are submerged in a jar of butter and served with a side of toasted bread. You may think all you need is just one bite of this buttery goodness, but you will find yourself reaching for thirds and fourths, and eventually not sharing the dish at all. And if you happen to find yourself drinking the butter from the jar (we didn’t, but it may have crossed our minds), we won’t judge.
Whether you like crab or not, this dish will definitely win you over. They say everything is better with butter, and this dish holds true to that. Though the King Crab appetizer may be the most well-favored dish on the menu, M is also known for their sushi and signature cocktails.
To accompany our King Crap appetizers, we also tried out the Three Cones (lobster salad served in a delicate, almost sweet, cone and garnished with caviar) and the Kobe sliders.
To wash all of these delightful noms down, we (aka Laura above) enjoyed a taste of the Black Orchid cocktail (Belvedere Black Raspberry, St Germain Elderflower, cranberry, and fresh lemon juice) complete with a ball of ice in which a black orchid is frozen inside.
This, pals, was the start to our culinary adventures in CBus. One hell of a start if you ask us!
