Basi Italia
Basi Italia is tucked away on a side street in the Victorian Village. If you are searching for charm, your search ends here. The restaurant resides amongst homes, and if you are able to sit outside, you can see the rooftops of the neighbors!
When we made our trip, we walked through the kitchen space where Chef Johnny was rocking flip flops. This casual coolness permeates throughout the rest of the sweet digs, with wine served in empty paint gallons and chalk board specials. The Italian fare on the menu emphasizes freshness.
Standout of the evening??? Heaps of zucchini with almonds blanketed in pecorino romano knocked our socks right off (we should have worn flip flops too).
What’s great about this spot is that each dish is at once delicate and yet bold with flavor. And super pretty. Check out this presentation (and imagine each bite as better than the last – for reals):
You’ll leave Basi Italia with a smile on your face and happiness in your heart (and stomach!).
