Uncle Sam’s, what’s up?

In my book, Uncle Sam’s has the best fries around. I’ll fight someone on this topic too. But, the concern of my post today is about the cheese steak sub (chicken cheese steak sub pictured left).

I LOVE myself a chicken cheese steak sub, but today, the sandwich was about par.  Something is not familiar about these subs and I can’t nail it down. I think it might be the bread. It wasn’t crispy enough. And maybe the lettuce too, might have been too wet.

Others agree. I was talking to a friend of eatpgh today and she asked me how my sub was. I told her something was off and she agreed. She also noticed something unfamiliar with the bread.  She even said that in her past few trips to Uncle Sam’s, her sandwich each time was too soggy to eat the other half.

So Uncle Sam’s, what’s up with the bread?
