Andora- Mt Lebanon
Thanks to Larrimor’s, I won a $100 gift card to treat myself to a swanky dinner at Andora in Mt. Lebanon. With all this cash to spend, I didn’t go alone. Thought I think that I could eat $100 worth of food myself, I opted not to this time around.
Upon arriving at the location, I was immediately blown away (in a bad way) that this place had only valet parking. WHAT?! This isn’t Downtown or the South Side with sometimes awful parking. This place has a parking lot. Valet was just awkward. I can park my car myself, it’s totally cool.
Moving on to the food, which was all excellent. I saw a lot of bad reviews on Urbanspoon, but I have to say that everything I had was great.
Jack Daniel’s on ice.. always delicious
Bread- now the bread was way below par. It was just standard bread, not warm, with some dipping sauce. This could be greatly improved with a nice bread basked of fully-sliced bread of different varieties- whole wheat an white. This bread tasted like it was from the GE across the street, which others have commented on Urbanspoon.
Sausage and provolone stuffed banana peppers- A bit hot but in a good way.
Wedge salad with corn. The corn was an interesting touch and was well received.
Beet salad- excellent! I wanted to lick the bowl.
Horseradish crusted Atlantic cod- again, a great meal.
Spicy chicken and gnocchi- great.
Warm apple cobbler- You really can’t go wrong with cobbler.
Overall, a satisfactory meal. I would go back, but I’m not sure it would be my first choice.

My thought on the banana peppers, is that they are a bit hotter than normal but some peppers naturally grow to be much hotter than others. Great entree choices! Yum!
