Lunch at Dozen
I’ve had the brunch and the cupcakes (of course)… this time, it was lunch.
On Saturday morning, I met my friend Jess at Dozen Bake Shop in Lawrenceville for lunch. As I was waiting for her to arrive, I sat outside and had a fantastic cup of coffee. One of my favorite things to do in the world is sit outside in the morning and drink coffee. Ah, amazing!!!
After Jess arrived, we ordered lunch. I originally wanted the Thai peanut tofu wrap, however that wasn’t available yet, so I went with a chicken salad sandwich. Note, as I was checking out, I noticed this little gem at the register. (Famous!)
This chicken salad sandwich was bomb! It was made with meaty chunks of chicken, cranberries (not dried) and creamy mayo, and stuffed into this fresh roll. Before savoring my first bite, I thought the bread was going to be hard and the chicken salad dry. That was definitely not the case.
Dozen has a good thing going on with this sandwich, and I expect the same for the other sandwiches. However, the only thing I found odd was that the sandwich came with pre-bagged chips. I’ll never turn down a potato chip, but I think that the sandwich could come with some sort of Dozen homemade side. Perhaps a cookie, or a dish of pasta salad, or even homemade chips. Just a thought.
