Tessaro’s
By now you know I’ve been on a search for the best cheeseburger in Pittsburgh. So far it has been glutenously delicious. While I haven’t found “the one” yet, I have found one that makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
Tessaro’s in Bloomfield makes one juicy burger. I could have done without the hour+ wait, but that only means it’s worth it. Right?
I went with the blu cheese and bacon burger. A staple for me. Usually when I order medium, I don’t get medium. This burger was cooked medium. Usually when you get blu cheese, there’s barely any on the burger. This little guy had a ton. This burger was thick and juicy and everything a burger should be.

Hmmm… so what's the best so far? (I'm new to your blog, so forgive me if there's an obvious answer.) Thanks for the Tessaro's flashback! I haven't been there in ages.

That's my burger of preference at Tessaro's as well!
Tessaro's is in the lead so far. Best burger I've found so far. Any other suggestions?
I would definitely have said City Grill on Carson (owned by former Tessaro's chef) until just a few months ago, although he recently changed something in his recipe and dropped a bit. Still a great burger, but I'm back on the search as well.
I hear good things about Aspinwall Grille.
Tessaro's has the best burger in the universe, period! I've been all over the country and to more than a few places in San Francisco that claim to have the best burger ever but none come close to Tessaro's. The Gourmet Burger with dry blue cheese is to die for.
I can also recommend City Grill as a very close second but I haven't been there in a while.
If you are going to Tessaro's on a Friday or Saturday you need to go close to 10:30 PM I've never had a problem getting in there and sitting down with in a few minutes.
I went to Tessaro's for the first time last week based on several friends recomendations. I too had the blue chees burger. This burger made me a Tessaros believer. This truly is the best burger in Pittsburgh and the best burger I have ever eaten.
You have to try the Backdoor burger at the Backdoor Tavern in Fallston, PA. I have had the Tessaro's burger thinking it might be as good, but it doesn;t come close.
Aspinwall Grille! The Grille burger is the best in the Burgh.
